Home Again!
Mood:  lazy
Topic: Reflective
Well back to the old grind where time just seems to fly by, faster and faster! Why is it the older we get the faster time seems to disappear?

Just to update, yes I had 3 teenage boys coming back with me, and it was a good trip ... other than car problems! At least we didn't really break down, only the engine light on and gutless on the hills. But we made it, safe and sound. And you were right Kit-Kat... it was hard to take my time. Did kind of spend more time after leaving your place, made a few stops and toured a mall. But not much, just wanted to get that car home before it quit! Oh well! Some day I will get it! Getting home early did give me 3 days to relax tho! And that was good!

I started this and next thing I know I am dusting my desk! Wonder if that is what called multi-tasking, or antsy? In any case, now that I've started, I better carry on and finish with this dust! Our dogs have found a nice cool place to sleep during the hottest part of the day, under our shed, so when they come in they are covered in dust. That seems to translate into dust all over everything! Oh dear!
Must get busy!

Holidays at last! Yesterday was spent driving and reached my destination in good time. It was a long drive, but hey! I do drive for a living so what else would you expect me to do on holidays? LOL I was lucky enough that one of my grandsons came with me, and as we don't have much time to get acquainted normally, this was a wonderful treat. And kids grow up so fast that they are constantly changing! If we do the same trip next year I know I will be traveling with a totally different person! Isn't life and growing exciting?
The weather was really nice, and it didn't start to rain until after we got settled at my daughter's! This morning when I put the cat out it was cold and windy, but I see some blue sky out there now, so life is good! On the trip home I might be the fortunate lady to have 3 teenage boys traveling back with me ... 2 grandsons and one of their friends. Boy, nobody is going to mess with this grandma on the trip home! LOL But a mental note for me! DON'T LECTURE!!! I caught myself doing it when I got here last night, so I MUST STOP!!! Wish me luck in that department! I will be posting some photo's in my photo blog later, if anyone happens to catch this.

The Intelligence of Youth!
Mood:  d'oh
Topic: Intelligence?
Now here's intelligence for you!
Way back when I was really young and totally dependent on my hubby (now an ex for some reason!) I would usually ask: "How high?" when he said "Jump". This one particular time he was working on an old car ... you know, taking the motor out of one, putting it in another car with a better body. He had this car out at the camp where he was working. His term of employment ended there so this car needed to be brought back home.
John had the brilliant idea to tow it home with our working car, so off we went to camp. A tow bar? No ... they cost too much money, so we had to use a chain. (No longer legal to do that ... not sure it was then either!) Now remember, the motor was in the trunk of this little car, and it was night. Not a nice clear night, but foggy after a rain.
Needless to say I had to steer this thing as it was being towed as John was the only one with a driver's license!
It started off not too bad ... I was able to see when Johns brake lights came on, and the fog wasn't too thick! Then comes the gravel road, after a rain and you could say a bit muddy! Next thing I know the windshield is getting too muddy to see out of, so I try to turn the wipers on!!! DUH! No motor, no power, no wipers!
'No problem,' I said to myself, 'I will just open the window and stick my out out and see that way!'
And I am not even blond!!! My bright idea lasted about 2 seconds when I realized the mud was then splashing in my face!
How on earth I managed to steer that thing home I have no idea. We made it home without incident as far as the vehicles were concerned, but my ego was sure bruised! And I looked a sight! LOL

Musings!
Mood:  chatty
Topic: Insights
Well here we go ... another stab at this 'blog' thingy. I was trying to get a feel for how people write blogs and saw a few different styles. Crypt ... 'went to the store' ... 'fed the baby' ... that type of thing. Then there are the political views, and they must be very political as they were as easy to understand as our politicians. I haven't found very much in the way of life as we know it.
Take for instance how ridiculous we are as parents. Have you noticed that for the first 2 years of a child's toddling life , when we try to potty train them we say: 'Why didn't you tell me you had to go potty?' Then for the next 3 years or more, we are constantly wondering why they have to tell us every time they have to go?
Oh yes... and at 3 years old we have to hurry and get them into pre-playschool (or whatever it's called these days)so we can start to lament when they want to go away to college! What gave them the idea that away from home was good? They are at 30 what they were at birth... our babies! We push them out, then try to reel them back in!
I love it when I catch myself being so darn serious, and then get a glimpse of how absolutely silly I am being. Nothing better than laughing at ourselves. Good for the soul! LOL
Maybe by tomorrow I will have more insights to share!
